Vertical Vehicle Extraction Course
Students will stabilize vehicles which are hanging over the edge of bridges. They will then stabilize the patients, provide patient care, and then extricate the occupants while suspended from ropes. All extrication tools and patient stabilization equipment will be supplied and managed by rope systems. Students need to have previous rope rescue training and/or vehicle extrication training and be prepared to be suspended in harness for extended periods of time. Students will need a Class III harness, head and eye protection, work boots, and gloves. Harnesses and helmets will be available for those who do not have one.
